Website for The National Ocean Sciences Bowl
The National Ocean Sciences Bowl (NOSB) is an academic competition and program for high school students. After years of mixed use and outdated code, their site was in need of a complete redesign. I worked closely with NOSB staff to determine what content would carry over as well as helping to develop new ways to engage their audience.
The site is designed to meet the needs of a variety of users. The traditional menu functions well if you are new to the program, but many visitors have been involved with the NOSB for years and just need quick access to certain resources. To accommodate these visitors I created a series of flip boxes on the homepage. Each type of participant has a box containing links to their most commonly requested information. There is also an interactive map to help anyone interested in participating find the closest regional bowl.
