Designing the Underwater Glider User Group logo was a fun challenge. The community continues to grow needed a way to represent themselves consistently. I chose a clean, wide font to emulate the bold stenciling seen on scientific ocean equipment. Those bold lines and sweeping curves of the “UG2” are balanced by the trails of the gliders. Showing them coming from several sources, but all heading in same general direction represents the community at large and mimics the sense of adventure inherent in these scientific pursuits.
